UON trains world-class physiotherapists. Our graduates work worldwide, helping individuals of all ages overcome movement disorders caused by injuries, disease and disability. In this rewarding career, you can help restore mobility and quality of life for countless patients.

Once you graduate, you can choose to specialise in an area that interests you. You might work in a hospital to develop exercise programs for older clients with movement disorders. You could find yourself on a sports field supporting athletes’ mobility and treating injuries. Or you could choose to specialise in child development, helping children and adolescents reach important development milestones through individualised programs.

What you will study

Your physiotherapy studies at UON will teach you theoretical knowledge in biomedical and behavioural sciences. You will also have plenty of opportunities to hone your skills through hands-on professional placements. You will:

Learn about the movement and function of the human body, gaining the medical skills to help patients overcome movement disorders caused by injuries, disease or disability.

Gain professional physiotherapy skills through case-based training and interactive team work activities designed to help you become a creative thinker and self-directed learner.

Learn exceptional communication and interpersonal skills needed to work one-on-one with patients as a physiotherapist.

Develop critical research skills that will set you in good stead for life-long learning in the field of physiotherapy.

为来自中国的学生设计 There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
