What you will study

Your pharmacy studies at UON will teach you theoretical knowledge in biomedical, pharmacotherapeutics and pharmaceutical sciences. You will also have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills through hands-on professional placements. You will:

Learn how to prepare, formulate and use medications safely and effectively to improve patient health and wellbeing.

Gain the comprehensive medical knowledge and exceptional communication skills required to provide trustworthy advice on the symptoms and management of common ailments and educate the community on a wide range of health and wellbeing matters.

Learn how to use your knowledge, experience and expertise to positively influence the management of pharmaceutical services in Australia and globally.

Develop foundational research skills and discover a range of research areas that you can choose to pursue in your pharmacy career: from investigating drug design and discovery; to formulation development, pharmacy practice, personalised health care and health technologies assessment.

为来自中国的学生设计 There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.
