专业概况

The Department of Mathematics offers degrees tailored to individual student needs. At the undergraduate level, we offer a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) degree.

We offer two emphases within the Bachelor of Science in Education degree. The 5-8 emphasis prepares the recipient for licensure at the Late Childhood through Early Adolescence (middle school) level. The 6-12 emphasis prepares the recipient for licensure at the Early Adolescence through Late Adolescence (high school) level.

The Department of Mathematics offers small class sizes, and our programs are adaptable to students’ needs and interests.

The department fosters unique opportunities for student involvement by encouraging student participation in the Math Club/Mathematical Association of America Student Chapter, Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society, Actuarial Club, Mo-Kan Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In addition, the department hosts a problem solving group and provides opportunities for one-on-one research with faculty members.

The faculty members within the department have expertise in broad area of mathematics to support research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

The department produces graduates that are well prepared and ready to pursue graduate school or careers in mathematics.

为来自中国的学生设计 High School Academic Records: A minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in high school and have earned a high school diploma; International College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in an accredited international post-secondary institution (college/university); U.S. College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) if transferring from an accredited U.S. college with at least 24 credit hours (approximately one year of college work). English Language Requirements: TOEFL score of at least 520 (paper) or 190 (computer) or 68 (internet); IELTS score - Overall band of 6.0 (with a minimum score of 5.0; PTE Overall score of 47.
