The Pittsburg State University Early Childhood Unified Program results in a general and special education teaching license for programs serving children Birth through Grade 3. The program focuses on hands-on experience in Pre-K and primary grade classrooms working with general education students and students with special needs.

About Degree

Beginning in the first semester of your sophomore year, you will spend over 1,000 hours in pre-schools and kindergarten through grade 3 classrooms working with students and mentor teachers. You will practice teaching strategies and classroom management techniques that will help you meet the needs of all children.

Career Options

By completing the Early Childhood Unified program, you will earn a Birth through Grade 3 teaching license. With this license, you can work in any of the following roles:

• Special Education Teacher of Pre-K
• Special Education Teacher of Kindergarten through Grade 3
• General Education Teacher of Pre-K through Grade 3

为来自中国的学生设计 High School Academic Records: A minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in high school and have earned a high school diploma; International College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in an accredited international post-secondary institution (college/university); U.S. College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) if transferring from an accredited U.S. college with at least 24 credit hours (approximately one year of college work). English Language Requirements: TOEFL score of at least 520 (paper) or 190 (computer) or 68 (internet); IELTS score - Overall band of 6.0 (with a minimum score of 5.0; PTE Overall score of 47.
