专业概况

The Pittsburg State University Elementary Education program focuses on hands-on experience in classrooms with award-winning elementary teachers. Our professors teach students how to bring their passion for teaching children to the classroom in order to become the teacher that their students will remember for the rest of their lives.

Beginning in the first semester of their sophomore year, students in our Elementary Education program spend over 1,000 hours in elementary classrooms working with children and mentor teachers in Kindergarten through Grade 6. In this role, students practice teaching strategies and classroom management techniques that help them to meet the needs of all children.

Career Options: Your time in the Elementary Education program will lead to a Kindergarten through Grade 6 teaching license. And by adding one of our innovative and hands-on minors, you can add an endorsement to your teaching license or receive a certificate in English for Speakers of Other Languages, Integrating Technological Literacy – STEM, Inclusive Education (Special Education), International Teaching, Leadership, Middle Level (Grades 5-8) Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts

为来自中国的学生设计 High School Academic Records: A minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in high school and have earned a high school diploma; International College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in an accredited international post-secondary institution (college/university); U.S. College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) if transferring from an accredited U.S. college with at least 24 credit hours (approximately one year of college work). English Language Requirements: TOEFL score of at least 520 (paper) or 190 (computer) or 68 (internet); IELTS score - Overall band of 6.0 (with a minimum score of 5.0; PTE Overall score of 47.
