专业概况

在这里学什么？

Since humankind first learned to walk it has been driven to better understand the world around it. Pittsburg State’s biology program distills this natural curiosity to its essence and then focuses it on the mysteries of life. Students will enjoy a multi-disciplinary and comprehensive overview of the biological sciences that will allow them to pursue interests in:

Pre-medical / Pre-dental – Preparation for entry into medical schools (medical, osteopathic medicine, optometry, dental, veterinary) or graduate medical research programs.

Pre-physical therapy - Preparation for entry into further specialization in physical and occupational therapy.

Cell and molecular biology – Preparation for graduate school or entry-level employment in biotechnology.

Medical technology – Preparation for clinical work in hospitals or private labs.

Field and Environmental Biology / Ecology and Organismic Biology - Preparation for working in a variety of agencies, conservation organizations, and for gaining expertise with many organisms, both plant and animal.

Plant physiology/plant molecular biology – Preparation for careers in industry or for graduate research in plant ecology, plant taxonomy, plant physiology, or plant pathology.

为来自中国的学生设计 High School Academic Records: A minimum GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in high school and have earned a high school diploma; International College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) in an accredited international post-secondary institution (college/university); U.S. College/University Academic Records: A minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) if transferring from an accredited U.S. college with at least 24 credit hours (approximately one year of college work). English Language Requirements: TOEFL score of at least 520 (paper) or 190 (computer) or 68 (internet); IELTS score - Overall band of 6.0 (with a minimum score of 5.0; PTE Overall score of 47.
