上海燎原国际小学的世界文化课之春分

二十四节气指二十四时节和气候，是中国古代订立的一种用来指导农事的补充历法。春分这天，白天和黑夜等长，各为12个小时。春分也是节日和祭祀庆典，古代帝王有春天祭日，秋天祭月的礼制。

The twenty-four solar term refers to the twenty-four seasons and climates in ancient Chinese calendar, it's a supplementary calendar to guide farm work. Spring equinox is one of the solar term, during this day the length of night and daytime are both 12 hours. It’s also a day for Chinses to celebrate and worship nature.

本次世界文化课的内容就是中国农历传统节气“春分”。老师向学生介绍了春分的时间，寓意、气候特点、有关春分的谚语，诗词以及春分的趣味习俗，最后让小朋友们玩了竖蛋活动并动手制作了花式眼镜。

Last week’s world culture class we learned something about spring equinox. We learned the meaning, the characteristics, the proverbs, the interesting customs and poems ofthe spring equinox. Finally, we did an activity to balance eggs on end and madepaper glasses. The students had so much fun.
