本周,在做计划、写报告和评分的间隙,上海燎原双语学校双语班和英文部的老师们一同参与了教师培训活动。由Heather Barnes老师、Alison Stringer老师和Naomi Hannan老师分享他们之前参加的探究课程的教与学网上培训,围绕“我们的学习者如何学得比较好”展开。
This week in a midst of planning, reporting and marking, the Liaoyuan Bilingual and English Division joined together for Teacher Led Training. This was in lieu of previous online training completed by Heather Barnes, Alison Stringer and Naomi Hannan for course-Teaching and Learning. This course was focused around asking the question, “How do our learners best learn”.

Teams from both divisions were previewed to three sections of the course that were deemed beneficial by the participants of the course. The training was structured first by looking at where the teachers see their teaching and learning practice in the classroom now. Then it went into looking further at the importance of differentiation and questioning and Alison wrapped it up bringing everything together with backwards planning and the inquiry cycle. The final stage of the training was collaborating with different members to create an overview of an IB unit for grade 1. Teachers were encouraged to think about differentiation and questioning while planning using the two methods explained by Alison.

All teachers were asked to reflect honestly about their practices in the classroom to give further insight for future trainings and to best help our learners learn best.
