If you have a passion for science, sustainability and want to play a part in solving the environmental problems facing our society, the Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management is for you. You'll learn to understand and combat the critical issues placing a growing strain on the earth’s natural resources such as climate change, human impacts, and the biodiversity crisis.
Right on the doorstep of the Hunter Valley mining belt, the Hunter wetlands and 300 kilometres of NSW coastline, our region offers vast environmental diversity and provides the perfect environment for you to gain practical experience out in the field.
Majors
Ecosystems and Biodiversity
When you study a major in ecosystems and biodiversity your degree will focus on ecology, ecosystems and conservation practices. Offered within the Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management degree, this major will enable students to study a variety of courses across the core science alongside their specialisation in ecosystems and biodiversity studies.
Natural Resources and Hazards
The study of natural resources and hazards focuses on understanding the mechanics of our planetary environment. Students will apply “systems science” to their study of the Earth’s spheres, including the atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, geosphere and impact of human activity upon them.
Coastal and Marine Science
71% of the earth is covered in ocean. So, it’s **** worth saving. Australia is responsible for approximately 16.1 million square kilometers of coastal shallows and ocean floor including the conservation of resources, control of pollution and management of species in these areas.
Sustainability
Students who choose to study a major in sustainability will focus on how to achieve a balance between using and conserving natural resources. Within the scope of the sustainability major you will learn about human geography, ecology, social research, globalization, tourism and much more.

为来自中国的学生设计 There are a number of ways to gain entry to undergraduate programs at the University of Newcastle. You may be considered for admission on the basis of: a completed NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent – irrespective of age of qualification; completed or partly completed higher education studies; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate III (AQF level 3), excluding the Bachelor of Nursing; TAFE/VET qualifications, with a minimum of a completed Certificate II (AQF level 2) in conjunction with meeting additional performance based selection criteria for the Bachelor of Music and associated combined degrees; completion of a recognised enabling program within a 10 year period preceding admission to the University; overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies. English language requirement: TOEFL paper-based test score of 500; TOEFL internet based score of 60; IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0; PTE GSE score of 50; Cambridge English: Advanced score of 52.课程信息
