专业概况

在这里学什么？ This degree combines theatre with the study of Portuguese, the official language of nine countries. The importance of the Brazilian and Angolan economies means Portuguese speakers are increasingly in demand. Portuguese-speaking countries have complex and fascinating cultures.The course offers an enriching experience with exciting intellectual challenges and a wide range of options that will allow you to pursue your own interests. Both departments encourage strong synergy between research and teaching, resulting in a vibrant learning environment as staff incorporate new research into their classes.The theatre course will allow you to develop your understanding and practical skills by exploring critical and historical frameworks alongside practical workshops. There are opportunities to engage with professional theatre makers and our museum-accredited archive, the Theatre Collection.For Portuguese, as well as following a structured language course, you will build your practical skills and explore critical and historical frameworks through literature, history, thought, politics, linguistics and culture. You will spend your third year abroad in a Portuguese-speaking country, extending your language skills and cultural knowledge.When you return to Bristol for your final year you will have the opportunity to undertake an independent practical or written research project and/or a work placement in the creative industries.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
