Art is essential, and you want to create it. Find you path into professional studio art or graphic design with a bachelor's degree in art and design. Develop your understanding of various art forms and movements, and discover your signature style or technique. Your vision could change the way people see the world.

What you’ll Study: Gain solid grounding in the fundamentals of color, art history, photography, and other core courses in our art major. Then focus your work with the Graphic Design or Studio Art track. You'll also sample courses in the performing arts and humanities and attain foreign language competency for a well-rounded cultural arts education.

How you’ll Learn More: Our on-campus studios (printmaking, graphic design, and pottery), gallery, and museum-quality installations and traveling exhibitions let you connect with visual art every day. As an art major at NSU, you're a free member of Fort Lauderdale’s NSU Art Museum, where you can visit the latest international exhibit, attend an art talk or show opening, or serve as a volunteer or intern.

Where It Can Take You: Multimedia artist, Illustrator, Photographer, Art educator or critic. Uncover your passion, refine your skills, and define your brand as a creative professional. Visual artists work across all industries, and the digital revolution has elevated and incorporated design into daily life. The world is your canvas.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 79 on the Internet-based test; International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.0 or higher on the test module; Duolingo Test of English: 105 or higher; Pearson Test of English-Academic (PTE Academic): Overall score of 54 or higher; iTep Academic (International Test of English Proficiency): Overall score of 3.9 or higher; Passing Level 9 from TALK International; Completion and passing of ELS Level 112 Intensive Program English for Academic Purposes
