Why Study Biomedical Sciences at Madonna University?

The Biomedical Science program is a rigorous undergraduate curriculum that will prepare you for employment as a professional medical laboratory scientist, or for further training in a variety of healthcare professions. Upon successful completion of the program you will be a competitive applicant for jobs as a healthcare professional in hospitals, and industrial and commercial medical laboratories.

This program also prepares you to meet the rigorous educational standards if you choose to further your education in medicine, veterinary medicine, physician assistant programs, or graduate school.

An increase in the aging population is expected to lead to a greater need to diagnose medical conditions, such as cancer or type 2 diabetes, through laboratory procedures. Prenatal testing for various types of genetic conditions also is increasingly common. Clinical laboratory technologists and technicians will be in demand to use and maintain the equipment needed for diagnosis and treatment. Laboratory professionals are essential in the timely diagnosis of infectious diseases like the novel coronavirus and employment opportunities will arise as new more complex testing is developed and implemented in major medical centers.
