PROGRAM FEATURES

Enjoy the personalized academic advising and mentoring from our caring staff and faculty, who will guide you through the program and help you shape your career goals. Expect rigorous academic work in small classes, where classmates and professors know your name. If you choose to combine the English major with teacher education certification, you will receive 150 hours of clinical field experience, to ensure you're well-prepared for your capstone student teaching assignment. Along with teaching on the secondary level, the program prepares you for graduate work in English, law, and for any career that values critical thinking and effective communication.
