The Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Secondary Education program is designed for candidates who hold a baccalaureate degree and want to earn a Middle/Secondary Teaching License. This is a 36 hour graduate program that is completely online.

The Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Secondary Education program is designed for candidates who hold a baccalaureate degree and want to earn a Middle/Secondary Teaching License. This is a 36 hour graduate program that is completely online.

Candidates who are eligible can teach in a middle or secondary classroom as the Teacher of Record and earn a salary while completing coursework with a Restricted Teaching License.

Candidates who do not secure a teaching position while taking courses must complete a student teaching semester during the last semester of coursework.

Career Options

The Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Secondary Education prepares a candidate for a Kansas middle/secondary teaching license in a content area. Candidates pursuing a Music, Art or Physical Education teaching license earn a K-Grade 12 teaching license.

Candidates can teach in Kansas or transfer their license to other states.
