专业概况
在这里学什么？ Literary critics are often concerned with how historical forces shape poems, plays and novels, while historians are interested in how literary texts shape cultural and political history. This joint honours course aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of the relationship between these distinct but complementary subjects.You will join two large departments with researchers in a great diversity of fields and will be encouraged to develop expertise and research skills relevant to both English and history.Mandatory units encourage analysis of the links between the two disciplines while optional units, which are offered across both departments, will allow you to explore your interests in particular periods of writing and history and develop more subject-specific skills. Your final-year dissertation will ask you to bring together the skills you have developed while studying both disciplines.所属院系

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.课程信息
