专业概况

在这里学什么？ One of the broadest engineering disciplines, electrical and electronic engineering uses cutting-edge technology to address some of the major concerns of the modern world. There is growing demand for skilled graduates to work in industries such as consumer electronics, alternative energy and transport, medical engineering and communications.Years one and two provide a strong grounding in mathematics, computing, analogue and digital electronics, communications, electromagnetics, power electronics and control. In the third year you will undertake an individual research project and choose from a range of optional units, which means you can focus on anything from electrical power systems to electronic communications.The BEng course provides partial accreditation for the qualification of Chartered Engineer. The first two years are common with the MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering and transfer on to the MEng is possible until the end of year two subject to satisfactory performance.Through our close collaboration with industry you will benefit from excellent employment prospects. Recent graduate employers include Intel, BBC, Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover, Siemens, Hewlett-Packard, EDF Energy and many others.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
