This degree increases your employment prospects by enabling you to gain expertise in two different areas of interest.

Study one of the few social media majors offered in Australia, and graduate with social media expertise that is highly sought after by employers to set you apart from other graduates. This degree increases your employment prospects by enabling you to gain expertise in two different areas of interest.

There is also an opportunity to study a portion of your degree overseas, as part of the University’s Hawke Ambassador International Volunteer Experience Program (full semester) or Professional Experience Program (part semester).

As part of this program you will volunteer with an international non-government organisation (NGO), either in Australia or overseas depending on your course.

You could continue your studies with a Master of Teaching with one major and one minor Learning Area.

What you'll learn

The Social Media major will equip you with the skills and knowledge to manage social media in a variety of professional settings.

You will:

• develop and implement social media campaigns to gain followers and create conversations with primary audiences
• understand the range of social media metrics available to achieve real results for organisations
• align social media brands to audiences and advise on the use of available digital channels
• manage and grow online communities
• write digital content including blogs and content calendars
• create text and visual assets for presentations, websites, email newsletters, tenders and submissions
• design social media banners and edit in-house video content for social media platforms
• manage social media content publishing, website editing, analysis, optimisation and refinement

This degree allows you to select two majors ensuring you graduate with a broad knowledge of two areas of interest. You can choose a second major from the following:

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 program. In order to gain entry, students require an additional year of study following their high school studies. For example, this can include successful completion of: One year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Overall 6.0 (with 6.0 in Reading and Writing); TOEFL iBT score of 60 with Reading and Writing not less than 18; TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) score of 550 with TWE of 4.5; Cambridge CAE/CPE score of 169; Pearson's test of English (Academic) (PTE) score of 50 with Reading and Writing communicative scores not less than 50; CELUSA score of AE4.
