The Bachelor of Education (Technology and Applied Studies) from Charles Sturt University will prepare you for a career as a secondary school technology teacher. In addition to learning how to teach design and technology, the program offers the opportunity to select and develop skills and knowledge from a broad range of technology fields.

Delivered online and at our Wagga Wagga campus, this four-year degree offers flexibility and access to a career as a technology and applied studies teacher. The inclusion of 80 days of professional experience placement ensures you are job-ready when you graduate.

Course highlights

There is a significant demand for teachers qualified in technology and applied studies. On completion of this course you'll be classed as a teacher of technology with the ability to teach in the key learning area of design and technology, and another selected area from agricultural, food, industrial and information technology. Students undertaking the industrial technology or food technology strand can also include an additional teaching area of either graphics and multimedia technology or textiles technology.

The Bachelor of Education (Technology and Applied Studies) is offered as a full-time, four-year program, predominantly taught face-to-face on the Wagga Wagga campus, or as a part-time or full-time program delivered online with residential schools for the practical components, providing the opportunity to meet your lecturers and discuss topics in depth.
