在这里学什么？Develop the knowledge and skills to manage the supervision and welfare of a wide range of animal species with CSU's Bachelor of Animal Science. Our course provides comprehensive training and extensive practical experience to prepare you for a career working with animals or in animal-related industries.
A degree in animal science from CSU could take you anywhere in the world from research laboratories of the world's foremost universities to production enterprises across Australia or even rain forests and jungles across the globe.
Course highlights
CSU's animal science course is diverse and could see you working in Australia or overseas at a zoo or wildlife park, or in conservation or research. It provides a broad foundation in biological sciences and instruction in basic sciences, research skills and the health, welfare, behaviour, nutrition, genetics and breeding of animals.

CSU lets you tailor your course to your interests and career goals, with streams available in animal production and management, animal science, biomedical science, equine science and management, and wildlife conservation and management.

CSU's School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences provides education in the animal, equine and veterinary sciences. With a strong focus on practical skills, we collaborate with local farmers and clinicians to deliver quality education in facilities that are among the best of their kind in the world. These include a pre-clinical centre, anatomy laboratory and museum, veterinary diagnostic laboratory, large animal hospital and small animal referral centre, large animal handling facilities, campus farms and field sites, and an equine centre.

Career opportunities
Diverse careers are available to CSU's animal science graduates.
Animal health, welfare and nutrition
Positions include animal nutritionist, animal behaviour list, animal stud manager, animal technician, animal education officer and animal welfare officer.
Population management
You could help manage populations of domestic and production animal species or free-living or captive wild animals in roles such as animal production manager, wildlife ecologist, conservation officer or national parks wildlife officer.
Other opportunities
You could pursue a career in research, teaching in schools and higher education, commerce or a government advisory or regulatory role as an environmental scientist, quarantine officer or scientific officer.
