What is Criminology MSc?

On this course you’ll have many opportunities to apply your criminological knowledge.

Using our strong links with a wide range of bodies, you can collaborate on projects with organisations such as Gloucestershire Constabulary, Restorative Gloucestershire, community groups - as well as business partnerships active in crime prevention and reduction initiatives, and charities providing support and training around issues such as domestic homicide, stalking and sexual violence.

Study style

You’ll learn through lectures, seminars, workshops, field trips and projects. Your studies will be assessed through a mixture of coursework, research reports, presentations and dissertation.

You’ll also be able to participate in the work of one of our specialist research groups. For instance, students in our Sexual Violence Research Group have reviewed historical case files on sexual offences for a police force, and contributed expertise to a local authority initiative on sexual violence service provision for men and boys. Working on real-world challenges like these can open up opportunities for your dissertation topic and your chosen career.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students should have Successful completion of a 4 year university Bachelor degree with a minimum grade of 70% overall. Three year Diploma (Dazhuan/ Zhuanke) AND evidenced three years’ relevant work experience (for Business School Masters only) and/ or a recognised 1 year pre-Masters programme.? IELTS 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any component.
