If you’ve ever wanted to combine your passion for teaching with your clinical knowledge, this is the program for you! Available completely online, the Master of Science in Nursing with an Emphasis in Education offers nurses the skills and credentials necessary to effectively transfer their clinical experience into a rewarding career as a nurse educator. This online MSN program prepares the graduate for the educator role with theory, clinical practice, and supervised experiences to promote innovative critical thinking.

Pittsburg State’s 33 credit-hour MSN program is designed for the hectic work schedule of today’s health care professional. Available completely online, it provides students with an immersive experience, allowing them to focus on a specific population, disease process or health care disparity.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the Nurse Educator Certification Examination, administered by the National League for Nursing’s Academic Nurse Education Certification Program. By becoming credentialed as a Certified Nurse Examiner (CNE), you serve as a leader and a role model.

The Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing is fully accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and approved by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. Our faculty is among the most accomplished in the Midwest.

Admission to Pitt State’s MSN program is based on both admission requirements and resource availability. Spaces are quickly filled so applicants should apply as early as possible. The application deadline for first consideration for both summer and fall programs is March 15. Candidates wishing to start their programs of study in the spring should apply before October 15. Late applications will be considered on a space available basis.

In addition to laying the groundwork for doctoral study, the MSN program also qualifies students for many advanced nursing roles including:

• Nurse Educator in a healthcare facility
• Nurse Educator as a faculty member in a community college or 4-year institution
