Like our undergraduate Elementary Education program, the Pittsburg State graduate-level Elementary Education program focuses on hands-on experience in classrooms with award-winning elementary teachers. Our professors teach students how to bring their passion for teaching children to the classroom in order to become the teacher that their students will remember the rest of their lives.

The Master of Science in Teaching with an emphasis in Elementary Education program focuses on preparing licensed elementary teachers to move from novice teacher to Master Teacher. This program is also open to those who do not have a teaching license, but want to learn about pedagogy and teaching young children. This ONLINE program is 33 graduate credit hours with 7 required courses, 3 electives and a practicum. The 3 elective courses can come from curriculum, assessment, or a content area. This program does not lead to a Kansas teaching license.

Career Options

Your time in the Elementary Education program will lead to a Kindergarten through Grade 6 teaching license. And by adding one of our innovative and hands-on minors, you can add an endorsement to your teaching license or certificate in
