专业概况

在这里学什么？ This is an applied psychology degree which uses psychological research methods to understand and interpret social and human behaviour in the context of education, wherever and whenever it happens throughout people’s lives. As with our BSc Education Studies, education is conceptualised as lifelong and in many different contexts.The British Psychological Society accreditation means that successful students are eligible to apply for professional training as a psychologist.Students acquire valuable skills spanning two rapidly changing disciplines that inform each other. You will be able to apply psychological theory and research to real-life educational settings involving children, adolescents and adults.The course currently includes an optional placement unit, Education in Practice, where you will have the opportunity to connect your academic learning with the practice of education by conducting a placement within a school, community organisation, charity, museum or other relevant organisation.Lectures, workshops, seminars, discussions, guided independent study and tutorials offer a well-rounded, evidence based and flexible basis for professional development. Seminars and workshop activities encourage you to collaborate with others, while individual and group presentations help you develop confidence in conveying your arguments and ideas.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
