专业概况

在这里学什么？ This course allows you to combine two historically interlinked disciplines to develop a breadth of skills across both economics and philosophy.The economics part of the course is technically rigorous and will build your analytical skills with mandatory units in macro- and microeconomics, mathematics, statistics and econometrics (the application of statistical methods to data to estimate economic models). This is complemented by units in philosophy which will equip you with skills in textual analysis, written and verbal expression, logic and critical thinking.As you progress through your degree you will be able to take an increasing number of optional units to specialise in the areas of the disciplines that interest you most.Previous economics options have included History of Economic Thought; Environmental Economics; and Current Economic Problems. Previous philosophy options have included Philosophy of Psychology; Evil, Deviance and Crime; and Classical Chinese Philosophy.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
