专业概况

在这里学什么？ This multidisciplinary, international degree integrates the analysis of government policy with the understanding of broader global political, economic and social change. At its core, the BSc International Social and Public Policy seeks to explore, analyse and critically assess contemporary social and public policy issues in and across societies.In the first year you will develop an understanding of key concepts and theories of comparative and international social and public policy. This enables a deeper understanding of the ways in which social, political and economic issues are shaped and responded to in different parts of the world.In the second year you will explore policy making and implementation and comparative political economy in global, national and local contexts, addressing key public concerns and real-world issues from an international perspective. You will also choose from optional units in a range of international policy areas and have the opportunity to undertake a work placement.The final year dissertation offers an opportunity to choose a topic for in-depth investigation and independent work.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
