专业概况

在这里学什么？ Expertise in modern languages has never been more important as the United Kingdom forges a new relationship with its European partners and seeks to develop its trading and cultural ties throughout the world. The University of Bristol offers an outstanding environment in which to study modern languages at degree level.This course comprises the study of language, history, literature and culture. In addition to gaining a high level of fluency and accuracy in modern spoken and written German, you will cultivate a thorough understanding and appreciation of the rich diversity of German culture.Following a wide-ranging introduction to those disciplines in the first year, you can choose from a range of options in your second and fourth years, including literature from the eighteenth century to the present day, film, linguistics, and modern political and social history. All Bristol teaching reflects the research interests of our academic staff.There are also plenty of opportunities to complement elements of your specialism in German with options from the wider School of Modern Languages, which may include translation studies and comparative approaches to literature, film and history.You will spend the third year abroad, either as a teaching assistant, as a student at a partner university in Germany or Austria, or on a work placement.As a major centre for research into German culture, we have a regular programme of visiting speakers who complement our regular teaching with specialist talks on their research interests.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
