专业概况

This course provides an opportunity to develop advanced and specific knowledge in a particular field of study. You will have the freedom and flexibility to choose and develop your own subject area and the opportunity to enhance your highly transferable research and project management skills. The postgraduate research team within the School of Health and Social Care are committed to providing the best possible experience for their students. School you will have the chance to work alongside experienced academics who will guide you through the research process and support you with your personal and professional development in order to maximise your career opportunities on graduation. You will have opportunities to meet with and discuss your project with other research students both within the school and across the university. There are regular opportunities to attend research seminars hosted by the research groups within the School and College. The School also has close ties with the University’s central Doctoral School who provide a wealth of training opportunities for all research students and the opportunity to present your work at their annual research showcase.

Career and Personal Development: You may choose to continue to build your research skills by pursuing a research career in either the academic or non-academic sectors. A wide range of industries and organisations look to employ graduates with research and analytical skills and the ability to manage complex and large scale projects; Some students may decide to move onto to further study, building on the knowledge base established during the MSc by Research programme. Most commonly this would be a PhD, but there may be other options within your specific career area. If you are already in employment, successfully gaining your Master's by Research may open up new opportunities and routes to progression.

为来自中国的学生设计 Prospective students require one of the following qualifications: A Chinese degree from a recognised institution with a minimum average grade of 70% (GPA 2.5), some programmes may require 80% or a GPA 3.0; Successful completion of a UK Bachelor degree with a minimum grade of 2:2. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score). Some courses require a higher IELTS score.
