专业概况

As a science and technology leader, you are not just a user of information. You are a creator of knowledge and an inventor of processes. The Master of Science in Information Security at Western Michigan University prepares you with the skills you need for your career in information security so you can fill a growing global need.

Through interactive training and real-world projects, you will learn steps for process building and implementation in today's business environment. Whether you are a business professional, engineer, computer science expert or information system specialist, you will be ready for success in your information security career.

WHY OUR PROGRAM?

The Information Security M.S. is entirely online. Courses are in an accelerated format; each one runs for 7.5 weeks. Completion of 30 credit hours is required you can complete the program in under two years.

CURRICULUM

The Master of Science in Information Security requires completion of 30 credit hours and offers two specializations.

Foundation Courses

You must complete both foundational courses.

CIS 5710 Information Security Fundamentals CYCS 5710 Network Security Fundamentals

Core Courses

You must complete at least five of the following six courses

CYCS 5730 Secure System Administration CYCS 5740 Web Application Security CYCS 5750 Software Development for Cybersecurity CYIS 6710 Information Assurance and Security CYIS 6720 IT Governance and Service Management CYIS 6730 Cyberwarfare, Cybercrime, and Digital Forensics

Elective Courses

If you have completed all six core courses, you must complete two of the following electives. If you have completed only five of the core courses, you must complete three of the following electives.

CYCS 6730 Installation Hardening CYCS 6740 Wireless Ethical Hacking CYCS 6750 Network Penetration Testing CIS 6300 Business Data Management CIS 6620 Business Project Management CIS 6660 Information Security Operations Management

Courses are offered in an accelerated 7.5-week-long format.

为来自中国的学生设计 Studens must have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) A minimum score of 80 iBT is required. Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) A minimum score of 77 is required. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Module. A minimum score of 6.5 is required.Pearson Test of English Academic Module. A minimum score of 53 is required.
