专业概况

The Master of Science in Computer Science is a ten course (30 credit-hour) degree program designed to give students advanced knowledge of the field and to provide an enduring foundation for future professional growth. Offered online and on-campus in South Florida, the CISC degree program blends theory and practice into a learning experience that develops skills applicable to complex real-world problems.

Students take five core courses covering the theory of programming languages, the design and analysis of algorithms, operating systems, database management systems, and software engineering. Three or more courses are then taken in one of the following concentrations of the student’s choosing: software engineering; computer systems; data science; information assurance and cybersecurity; and real-world computing. Students can elect a no concentration option. Remaining courses are electives drawn from computer science course offerings.

Notably, the security concentration is recognized by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a result of this recognition, federal agencies may sponsor civilian and military personnel to take the school's certified graduate courses. Individuals may apply to take one or more certified information security courses as non-degree students.

Concentrations in Software Engineering, Computer Systems, Data Science, Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, and Real-World Computing.

Learning Outcomes

A graduate with a M.S. in Computer Science will have the ability to (1) communicate computer science concepts, designs, and solutions effectively and professionally; (2) apply knowledge of computing to produce effective designs and solutions for specific problems; (3) identify, analyze, and synthesize scholarly literature relating to the field of computer science; and (4) use software development tools, software systems, and modern computing platforms.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must complete all bachelor's degree requirements before beginning graduate studies or is in the process of completing a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 79 on the internet-based test. (2) International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 6.0 on the test module. (3) Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 54 on the test module.
