弹指一挥间，草长莺飞的春天已成为模糊的过往，炎炎夏日已经悄无声息地来到了我们身边。6月6日，光华美高第十二期英语公众演讲如期而至，本场选手分别是来自九年级的赵同学 、梅同学 、狄同学 、虞同学 和十一年级的潘同学 ，本期的话题十分丰富，既有经济学的经典理论，也有备受年轻人喜爱的动漫和游戏。

英语公众演讲第十二期

赵同学 Chi-bi Maruko

赵同学的演讲围绕着一个著名的日本动漫人物展开。一提到樱桃小丸子，想必大家脑海中就浮现出一个机灵小女孩的形象，大家不仅喜欢她可爱的卡通形象，而且生活中跟小丸子有关的一系列的物品也是备受欢迎。赵同学认为，这个卡通形象之所以如此受欢迎的原因有两个：**，小丸子拥有生活中大多数人所向往的幸福生活，是人类情感寄托的载体;第二，其实小丸子就是平凡人群的一员，人们透过她的故事可以感悟和反省自己，彷佛看到了另外一个自己。最后，她还向逝去的樱桃小丸子的漫画家致敬，感谢她给我们带来的这份快乐和美好。

Chi-bi Maruko, like us, she has all the emotions that we have, this is our similarity with this role, and what happened to her every day is no different from us. Paying attention to her life and story can fill the gap in our hearts and help people find spiritual support. She was humble and slowly found herself not the center of the world, much like our childhood. People can find the sunshine in her to fill the hole of their own life and heart, and can also relate to her shortcomings and difficulties.

梅同学 South Korean variety Show

梅同学以韩国的综艺节目为主题展开演讲。在日常生活中，人们越来越重视休闲活动，而观看综艺节目也成为了最为热门的娱乐方式之一。为什么韩国综艺在众多的综艺中能脱颖而出呢?她认为，首先，韩国综艺节目的后期技术用得恰到好处，这使观众的情感能跟着节目走。其次，在每一个韩国综艺的背后都有一只优秀的制作团队。最后，韩国综艺中的嘉宾都很自然并且十分照顾对方，每一位嘉宾对待游戏都十分认真，他们之间产生的默契让综艺节目更加有趣真实。在她看来，综艺节目不仅仅是一个消磨时间的工具，还可以让我们学到很多，例如如何从多个角度看待问题以及默契的重要性。

With the passage of time, we pay more and more attention to leisure activities, and watching variety shows has become one of the most popular forms of entertainment. Why on earth did south Korean variety emerge from the vast sea of variety? First of all, the post-production technology of Korean variety shows is very appropriate, which makes variety shows more vivid and makes audiences' emotions follow the program. Secondly, there is an excellent production team behind every Korean variety show.

狄同学 The Paradox of Value

价值悖论是一个经典的经济学理论，狄同学以此为主题，以一个具体情境拉开了演讲的序幕。在一个游戏节目中，给你一瓶水和一块钻石二选一，想必很多人会选择钻石。但若是在沙漠中，可能很多人就是选择那瓶水了。钻石与水的悖论初次由约翰·劳提提出，后来经济学家亚当·斯密在说明价值决定因素时借用了这个例子。钻石对于人类维持生存没有任何价值，然而其市场价值非常高。相反，水是人类生存的必需品，其市场价值却非常低。这种强烈的反差就构成了这个悖论。最后，她指出日常生活中大多数人的选择是以满足基本需求为标准，只是为了实用或娱乐，需求和喜好促使每一个人做出最适合、最恰当的选择。

It take Adam Smith ,the pioneer of economics. And what it tells us is that defining values is not as simple as it seems. On the game show , you were thinking about each item’s exchange values. But in an emergency, like the desert, what matters far more is their use value ,how helpful they are in your current situation. And because we only get to choose one of the options , we also have to consider its opportunity cost or what we lose by giving up the other choice . After all, it doesn’t matter how much you could get from selling the diamonds ,if you never make it out of the desert.

虞同学 Animation

虞同学以动画为话题展开演讲。动画，顾名思义就是可以移动的漫画。为什么动画在这个世界上有着非常巨大的影响呢? 她认为动画可以使漫画家笔下的形容“活”了起来，人们可以更直接地感受到角色。此外，动画一般具有丰富的想象力，可以将我们带进画家创造的新世界里，感受不同的情绪，心灵仿佛得到净化和升华。

What’s more, animations are imaginative, the painter expressed his imagination of the new world so well that he actually pull us into his world. What happens in this world is virtual, but it still touches us. I am often touched by people and objects in the animations. When we feel happy or sad for the characters we loved, some people may feel hard to understand. My mother is also puzzled why I put so much emotion into many false “paper man”. But what does that matter?

潘同学 Never Say Never

潘同学的演讲围绕着一种伟大的竞技精神展开。他认为世上有一种神奇的精神，它可以支持人们前进，那就是历经坎坷，永不言弃。举例来说，他先提及了去年的中国队在英雄联盟比赛夺冠的事。2018年11月3日，iG战队在2018英雄联盟全球总决赛中以3：0的成绩战胜Fnatic战队，夺得最高荣耀——英雄联盟全球总决赛冠军，让长达八年的全球总决赛冠军梦变成了现实。之后，他又提到了另外一支励志的队伍——上海龙之队。这支队伍是2019年守望先锋新赛季唯一的中国战队，不敢想象它曾背负40连败的过往，曾令粉丝梦失望不已，但他们从未放弃，坚持勇往直前。终于，上海龙之队以3:1的战绩击败波士顿崛起队，成功甩掉自己“0之队”外号的同时，赢得了全世界的掌声!所以，永远不要说永远，永远不要放弃，!挫折不会使人灭亡，勇敢地面对挫折，打败挫折，成为命运的主宰!

This legend is called Shanghai dragons. It was the only Chinese team in 2018 overwatch league. As the symbol of China and domination, Shanghai dragon attracts a lot of fans when it was set up. But can you guess the achievement of shanghai dragon in the first season of OWL? The record reached staggering 0:40, Shanghai dragons never won in whole 40 games, How disappointed the fans were, but they never give up. “tearful supporting shanghai dragon”, all fans believed that we can win, shanghai dragons will fly one day, because they are dragons, we are dragons. In 2019 overwatch league, shanghai dragons reform their team, they were prepared to be a winner.

最后，经过激烈的角逐，虞同学凭借出色的发挥拿下了本场演讲的**名。当然，其他几位同学成绩也取得了不错的成绩。正如潘永诚同学在演讲中提及的永不言弃的精神，一次小小的失利并不算什么，重要的是在跌倒的地方吸取教训，勇敢地站起来前行。我们坚信，所有磨难存在的意义不是为了使人受苦，而是激发内在的潜能，让人们在苦难中成长和蜕变!
