① The Picture of Dorian Gray 《道林格雷的画像》
Cameron:
① Outliers - Malcolm Gladwell
(Psychology) A study of success, how to be successful, and the infamous “10,000 hour rule” and what it means. Outliers deals with exceptional people, especially those who are smart, rich, and successful, and those who operate at the extreme outer edge of what is statistically plausible. Numerous examples are mentioned throughout the book such as, The Beatles, Bill Gates, and J. Robert Oppenheimer.
② Things Fall Apart - Chinua Achebe
(Historical fiction) Part one of three; The chronicle of pre colonial life in Southeastern Nigeria. The story follows Okonkwo, an Igbo wrestling champion; the first part depicting his family, personal history and the customs of his people.
③ As I Lay Dying - William Faulkner
(Southern gothic; fiction) The book is narrated by 15 different characters throughout the book. It is the story of the death of Addie Bundren and her poor, rural family's quest and motivations—noble or selfish—to honor her wish to be buried in her hometown of Jefferson, Mississippi.
Lewis:
① Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck
I found this book quite easy to read and I think it has an interesting but simple plot about the aspirations of the American dream.
② The Catcher in the Rye - J.D Salinger
I really enjoyed this book as an adolescent. It's not too heavy so, it could possibly be read quite quickly and of course it's a classic.
③ Oliver Twist - Charles Dickens
Again, this is a classic and tells the story from a child's point of view in Victorian London. It's an interesting story with many twists and turns but I think it mainly covers a fascinating time in history.
① Lord of The Rings -J.R.R Tolkien
② Jamaica Inn -Daphne Du Maurier
③ Little Women - Louisa May Alcott
Girls, have faith and be independent.

It is the story of that young man’s relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother—his teammate, a woman determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life.
② Dear girls - Ali Wong
Ali Wong's heartfelt and hilarious letters to her daughters (the two she put to work while they were still in utero), covering everything they need to know in life, like the unpleasant details of dating, how to be a working mom in a male-dominated profession, and how she trapped their dad.
③ Asking the Right Questions
It helps students bridge the gap between simply memorizing or blindly accepting information, and the greater challenge of critical analysis and synthesis. It teaches students to respond to alternative points of view and develop a solid foundation for making personal choices about what to accept and what to reject.
