专业概况

在这里学什么？ Our new MSci course is ideal if you want to continue in research or to stand out when applying for a PhD.In your first year you will gain a broad training in biomedical science and will begin to study the cellular and molecular basis of human diseases, as well as basic biochemistry, cell biology, pathology and microbiology.In your second year you will study molecular genetics and learn skills in recombinant DNA technology, which underpins research in many cutting-edge laboratories.Our eBiolabs dynamic laboratory manual will help you prepare for practical laboratory sessions in the first and second year.In the third year you will choose options from approximately ten different units, which reflect our research strengths in the areas of cancer biology, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, and infection and immunology.The additional, fourth year includes an extended research project and advanced research skills training with an emphasis on enterprise. You will plan projects, communicate with a variety of audiences, and learn to translate and commercialise research.The School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine focuses on turning science into medicine and these courses aim to launch you into a research career with an emphasis on translational research.

为来自中国的学生设计 The International Foundation Programme (IFP) is for international students whose first language is not English. Run by our Centre for Academic Language and Development, the one-year programme will prepare you for the undergraduate degree of your choice through tailored English language and academic units. Applicants with the Gaozhong Biye Zhengshu (Senior High School Certificate) and Gaokao (Chinese University entrance exam) combined with a successfully completed appropriate foundation programme will be considered for admission to our bachelor's degree courses. Applicants who have successfully completed the first year of a Chinese university degree at a prestigious university will be considered for admission to the first year of our bachelor's degree courses. Students need to have IELTS 6.0 overall with either listening or speaking at 6.5, with no skill below 6.0.
