专业概况

在这里学什么？

The Haslam College of Business’ Master of Science in Business Analytics develops a student’s technical acumen in deriving insights from large data sets as well as business fundamentals and soft skills like leadership, team work and presentations. Our students graduate with both the ability to communicate the data relevant to the problem at hand and how it can be leveraged to benefit the organization.

Students develop technical and soft skills through coursework throughout the degree. In their final semester, they work in teams using real data to solve a real problem for one of our industry partners in their capstone project. Students communicate with company executives throughout the project, presenting their findings at the end of the semester.

The Haslam MSBA is comprised of three semesters requiring 12 to 18 hours each. For a full description of the content in required courses see the graduate course catalog. Students can also pursue a dual degree, gaining an MSBA and MBA in two years. See the tabs below for curriculum outlines.

STEM/OPT Certified

The Haslam MSBA is STEM and OPT certified, which provides enhanced employment opportunities for international students. During the Optional Practical Training (OPT) period students with F-1 visa status who have either graduated or been pursing their degree for at least nine months can work in the U.S. for one year to gain practical training in their field of study. STEM Certification allows a 24-month extension of the post-degree OPT. Effectively, international graduates of Haslam's MSBA can work in the U.S. for up to three years after graduation in order to obtain extra experience before they attain a work visa through their company.

Careers

Analytics professionals perform analyses to produce dashboards, data visualizations, predictive models and more. Our graduates can be successful in a wide range of job functions. Some examples are:

• Working as an analytics professional in areas such as consumer insights, supply chain, healthcare, finance and marketing.
• Working as an “internal consultant” with a wide range of diverse projects throughout the organization.

At the Haslam Business Analytics program, we care about each and every student’s success. The numbers are a testament to that, with nearly 100 percent of our students having jobs prior to graduation and 100 percent having jobs within six months. We achieve this by

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the appropriate regional accrediting agency, recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEEA). A non-U.S.?degree must be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from the United States and must be granted by a recognized or accredited foreign institution. United States degree holders must have earned a minimum of 2.7 out of a possible 4.0 GPA or a minimum of 3.0 during the senior year of undergraduate study. If you have completed previous graduate coursework, you must have earned a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 GPA. Minimum score requirements for admission to the Graduate School are: a total score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (iBT), a 6.5 overall band score on the IELTS.
