专业概况

在这里学什么？

Computer engineering merges the electronic hardware side of electrical engineering with the programming side of computer science. Often, a student can study electrical engineering to cultivate a background in computer engineering; however, with the increasing needs of both industry and technology that drive our future, computer engineering has now become a discipline by itself.

Computer engineering provides a background in the three broad areas of hardware, software, and hardware-software integration. Students will explore fundamental topics such as microprocessors, computer architecture, digital signal processing, operating systems, data communications, and other related material. In addition, the program includes core engineering subjects common to all engineering disciplines.

The Computer Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

Honors Concentration – Computer Engineering

In addition to satisfying the requirements for the electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science major, candidates for the honors concentration must also complete the following requirements.

• Maintain an overall GPA of 3.4.
• Four 100- or 200-level honors courses* (14 hours minimum, at least two courses must be from Engineering Fundamentals, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Statistics, or Materials Science and Engineering 207).
• Two upper-division honors courses in computer science or electrical and computer engineering (COSC 307, COSC 317, COSC 367, COSC 377, COSC 427 or ECE 317, ECE 347, ECE 357, ECE 417, ECE 427, ECE 457, ECE 477, ECE 478, ECE 487).
