在这里学什么?Western Michigan University's healthcare services and sciences program will be a good fit for you if you are:
A student who wants to prepare for administrative and other non-clinical positions in health care. Already working in health care and interested in upgrading your knowledge and abilities with a bachelor’s degree. Interested in health and human services graduate programs, including:
Addiction studies Audiology Blindness and low vision studies Disability services Health care administration Holistic health Occupational therapy Physical therapy studies Physician assistant studies
The program has five paths of study or tracks:
Healthcare services and sciences Healthcare services and sciences—audiology preparation: The audiology preparation concentration will allow you to enter the doctoral degree program through an accelerated graduate degree program option specifically designed for audiology. You can double-count 12 credit hours of coursework in both undergraduate and graduate degrees under the accelerated graduate degree option. This will allow you to complete both degrees in seven years rather than eight. Healthcare services and sciences—blindness and low vision studies preparation: This undergraduate program prepares students to apply for a graduate program in occupational therapy. Healthcare services and sciences—occupational therapy preparation: WMU offers a five-year program which leads to the completion of two degrees: a Bachelor of Science in healthcare services and sciences and a Master of Science in occupational therapy. The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education requires a master's degree for the practice of occupational therapy. Healthcare services and sciences—physician assistant preparation: WMU strongly recommends the Bachelor of Science in healthcare services and sciences: physician assistant preparation to adequately prepare for and apply to the WMU physician assistant program and other physician assistant programs. However, completion of this track does not guarantee admission to any physician assistant graduate program.
Also available are programs designed for allied health professionals who hold an associates degree and wish to upgrade their knowledge and abilities including an online bachelor's completion program.
Beyond the classroom
As a student of WMU's healthcare services and sciences program, you will be required to complete a clinical internship, which will allow you to gain experience in a variety of agencies and institutions while integrating and applying your knowledge and honing your skills in preparation for employment or graduate study.
