专业概况

Our unique MA International Music Management course will help you challenge current approaches, structures and business models in the music business, to critically evaluable trends and draw upon best practice - all in order to excel within the global music market.

With some of the biggest selling artists now originating from non-English speaking countries, such as Korean groups BTS and Blackpink, and the Latin American market, language is no longer a barrier to achieving international success. As such, this course is designed to prepare students for careers around the world and to develop the ability to market and distribute music product internationally.

When you consider this, together with evolving digital economies, the opportunities and challenges are fascinating. The effect on traditional business models is also essential to comprehend - artists, songwriters and record labels can now reach global audiences directly and instantaneously. It is therefore becoming essential to understand how international music markets operate in terms of music consumption, marketing, branding, economics and distribution.

This course, taught at the UCA's Business School for the Creative Industries, will enable you to choose from a whole range of career paths, including artist management, international marketing, strategic development, social media marketing, eCommerce, record company marketing, supply chain management, music publishing, music tech companies, start-ups and consultancy. When you graduate you will have a comprehensive and critical understanding of historical contexts and current issues facing the music industry and to apply advanced skills, techniques and processes to ensure success in a dynamic international music market.
