KWYA's four-day trip to Phnom Penh ended successfully on October 21st, 2018. The matches were organized by the Canadian International School of Phnom Penh. A total of five schools participated:

Canadian International School, Phnom Penh

Hope International School, Phnom Penh

Liger Academy, Phnom Penh

iCAN International School Phnom Penh

KWYA, Kunming, China

【Taking off】
Excitement mixed with 32°C heat once we got off the plane in Cambodia.
At the CIS campus, their teachers prepared a STEM activity so that students from both schools could get to know each other and build international friendship. Students were given instructions and worked as a team to make an artwork. This activity gave all the students a chance to get to know each other better while they explored their creativity by talking about each other’s different ideas.
During the activity, students from the two schools started out shy but quickly got along well. Soon, the classroom was filled with their laughter. It was one of the most meaningful things from this trip, making friends from a different country. Afterwards, students voted on the most creative work. Martin from KWYA Grade 8 and his partner won and were awarded with a book from the CIS library.

【Competitions】
During the games, all KWYA students tried their best. While we didn’t get first place, everyone worked hard together and achieved a lot - more than simply winning the games:

Some students learned a lot of new English words.

Some students learned how to fill in forms at customs.

Some students made new friends.

Some students even learned new things about themselves.

You won’t know how big the world is until you get out of your own circle. Traveling helps you see, learn and meet people. For all KWYA students, this trip was not only to play football and basketball, but also to grow up and get to know themselves more.
